We Need Your Help To Raise one million pounds by 2015 to fund Brain Tumour Research

My name is Pamela Roberts and I lost my wonderful husband Peter to a Grade 4 malignant brain tumour; I was his wife, friend, soul mate and carer. Since Peter’s death, I have had the benefit of other people in my situation, sharing their knowledge and experiences with me. Their sharing and support made me realise that I was not alone, and, whilst none of us can really know what others are feeling, they can certainly understand the challenges that are to be faced and the emotions that one has to work through.

THE PPR FOUNDATION BRAIN TUMOUR SUPPORT GROUP IN HARROGATE

Diagnosis of a Brain Tumour, treatment for a Brain Tumour and caring for someone with a Brain Tumour all bring huge challenges. Relatives and friends are in shock, confused and bewildered and sometimes need someone to turn to.
People like me, who have tragically lost someone to this awful illness quickly realised that there is no Brain Tumour support group in Harrogate. To that end, I have decided to form The PPR Foundation Brain Tumour Support Group in Harrogate, where we can offer each other both emotional and practical support based on our own experiences and furthermore, we can together campaign as a group for research into the causes and treatments of Brain Tumours.

CONFUSING AND ANXIOUS TIMES

When someone is diagnosed with a brain tumour, having treatment, is living with a brain tumour or knows someone who has died from a brain tumour, we recognise that these are confusing and anxious times for everyone involved.

We also know that it is difficult to find information and support. Our telephone, letter, email and internet support services offer a skilled ear and understanding, whatever your query or concern, allowing you to ‘talk’ in confidence.

UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION

We are concerned with all the issues around the impact of brain tumours. Our friendly and informative staff and volunteers will do their best to answer your questions, listen to your concerns and provide up-to-date information when you need it.
